Position summary

We rely on a combination of experimental and computational solutions for target discovery and drug development. We are expanding our computational pipelines to process primary genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic data. We are looking for a bioinformatician with a solid experience on NGS / RNA-Seq primary (raw) data analysis. As we heavily focus on the non-coding transcriptome, the ideal candidate should be an expert on alignment, de-novo and ab-initio transcript assembly, QC and expression quantification.


Primary responsibilities

  • Development of bioinformatic pipelines for the automatic processing of -omic data, in particular RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq raw data.
  • Execution of bioinformatic pipelines on data profiled in-house or from public repositories to identify promising lncRNA targets dysregulated in diseases.
  • Support the scientific team in the identification of non-coding transcripts and differential expression analysis.

Beyond these primary tasks, you will be involved in other exciting projects on the analysis of new cutting-edge molecular profiling techniques.


Profile

  • Expertise on alignment of RNA-Seq primary data, de-novo and ab-initio transcript assembly, QC and expression quantification.
  • PhD in quantitative sciences (e.g. computer science, statistics) or life sciences or several years of professional experience
  • Experience with the analysis of primary epigenomic data (e.g. ChIP-Seq) is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in Python or R is a plus
  • Experience with non-coding genomic or transcriptomic data is a strong plus

Molecular Biologist / Lab Manager

Position summary

You will be an early member of a highly dynamic scientific team generating and experimentally executing on actionable pioneering hypotheses to drive novel platform and therapeutic applications.

The ideal candidate needs to have a strong background in molecular biology, be highly organized and able to conduct research independently. In addition, the candidate will take the role of lab manager, ensuring that inventory is maintained, organizing lab orders and supplies, and keeping the laboratory safety documentation up to date.


Primary responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with in vitro experiments for the identification of novel lncRNA-targeting therapies in different contests and pathologies.
  • Develop and apply novel high-throughput methodologies to analyze nucleic acids expression, protein to DNA interactions and gene transcription misregulation.
  • Responsible for dealing with vendors and suppliers. Oversee shared lab supplies, including ordering, organizing, and maintaining inventory
  • Ensure that laboratory practices are in accordance with building regulations and local, state and federal law.
  • Maintain an up-to-date electronic notebook record of performed studies

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position needs:

  • BA/BS degree in molecular/cellular/RNA biology (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in molecular biology with lab manager experience
    (experience in industry is a plus).
  • Experience working with molecular biology assays including nucleic acid extraction from cells and tissues, PCR, qRT-PCR, gel electrophoresis and plasmid transfection.
  • Proficient in standard tissue culture techniques with mammalian cells (both primary and immortalized cells).
  • Experience with NGS technologies such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, PRO-seq, ATAC-seq and scRNA-seq, in particular with library preparation.
  • Organized and knowledgeable about lab orders, needs and lab safety protocols.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of people and be able to work in both
    team settings and independently as current projects dictate

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in RNA biology with a strong background in
    molecular biology, epigenomic and gene transcription regulation.
  • Experience in designing, performing and analyzing a wide array of molecular biology assays including nucleic acid extraction from isolated cells and tissues, qRT-PCR, lentiviral production, CRISPR assays, shRNA and siRNA transfection.
  • Proficient with NGS technologies such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, PRO-seq, ATAC-seq and scRNA-seq.
  • Experience in mammalian primary cell culture and general tissue culture techniques
  • Proven track-record of scientific excellence as evidenced by a strong publication and/or patent record

The candidate needs a strong background in molecular and RNA biology with experience designing, performing and analyzing a wide array of cell & molecular biology assays and a demonstrated ability to generate innovative hypotheses in unexplored biological fields.


Key Objectives

  • Apply your scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills and creativity to generate and test hypotheses for novel applications of our platform in emerging fields of RNA biology.

  • Proven track record in novel RNA-centric method development or application, such as RNA-centric NGS methods (i.e. ATAC-Seq, ChIP-Seq, RNA-seq, Ribo-seq, eCLIP, scRNA-seq)
  • Excellence in experimental design, execution and interpretation
